Mission Statement
OLR Kindergarten aims to enrich the lives of children in an environment where:
- Learning reflects current early childhood philosophies;
- Uniqueness is fostered in a safe, caring and facilitating manner; and
- Parents and community are an integral part of the programme.
We are dedicated to:
- Planning programmes based upon children's interests and development;
- Providing a safe, challenging environment catering for each child's needs and interests; and
- Providing opportunities where parents and community can become involved through various activities of the kindergarten.
Your Community Kindergarten
The word 'community' implies that parent involvement is an integral part of the running of the centre. You, as parents, commit yourselves to this responsibility when you decide to send your child to a Community Centre, rather than any other type of Kindergarten or Child Care Centre. We are glad you have chosen our kindergarten for your family. This is now your kindergarten, and we hope you will treat it as such. You will manage the centre through an elected management committee.
OLR Kindergarten prides itself in the active involvement of the wider community in the running of the centre and in turn seeks to actively involve itself and all our members both children and parents in community issues. Your input on these matters and opinions on the direction the kindergarten should take are always welcome.
