How you can become involved

The centre is affiliated with the Crèche and Kindergarten Association of Qld. and is operated by the Management Committee of the Association. Each year a new Committee is elected from the parents of enrolled children and other members of the association. Each family of a child attending the centre becomes a member of the kindergarten association, entitling the family to one vote.  Interested members of the community are welcome to become members of the association on payment of an annual subscription fee of $5.00.

The Management Committee elections take place at the Annual General Meeting usually held around mid February to early March at the Kindy. Nominations for committee positions are sought in the first few weeks of term one each year. You are encouraged to become part of this committee.

In order to operate effectively, the Kindergarten the Management Committee needs the input and commitment of many parents from the Kindergarten and community. The Committee meets monthly and is always in need of more members each year to help coordinate the many tasks involved in the running of the Kindergarten.

Each committee member is expected to attend AT LEAST ONE Creche and Kindergarten Association meeting each year. All Committee members are strongly advised to attend the C&K Management Seminar held early in the year.

The Kindergarten is funded by the State Education Dept. for a percentage of the staff wages. The remainder is made up with fees and fundraising/levies. The Association operates under a set of rules - a copy is held on site at the centre.
